conservatives in the sociology department
by dreaming of systems so perfect
to consider delirium
A mini album (about 22 minutes) comprised of a few shorter pieces around the longer title piece.
This is piano based, treated, and blended with various recorded sounds.
Two of the tracks are from an archive of wax cylinder music from around the world, with added piano. (Berlin Phonogram Archive)
It's a little rough perhaps, but I think it all adds up to something worth listening to, and worth creating.
and, there will always be a conservative in the sociology department, even if you, or they, are currently unaware...

ambient, piano, radio...some FM oddities.
The title is from a T. S. Eliot poem, Choruses from "The Rock" Part VI
"They constantly try to escape
From the darkness outside and within
By dreaming of systems so perfect that no one will need to be good.
But the man that is will shadow
The man that pretends to be."
It's an excellent poem
This is a quieter album, sculpted and layered in peaceful moments, slow, elaborating on itself.
FM, Radio, late night recordings of wind chill stillness dissecting the power lines...
"The aim of music is not to express feelings but to express music"
Pierre Boulez
